AMINO ACIDS - WHAT THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY ARE FOR?

Amino acids are the building blocks of the proteins to which they give rise when joined in sequence to the peptide bond. Their intake is essential for the functioning of our body. They make up muscles, skin, hair and blood and help protect and regulate physiological functions as well as hormones, enzymes and antibodies. Their primary function is therefore to intervene in protein synthesis, necessary to cope with the cell renewal processes of the body, also providing energy for movement. To function properly and support normal muscle functions, our body needs a sufficient amount of protein to ensure the supply of all essential amino acids in different quantities depending on age and physical and mental workload.
